1. Do get imaging to verify exam findings, if necessary.

2. Don’t diagnose off that imaging.

Imaging was never meant to substitute for exam findings. I’m consistently shocked with lazy practitioners getting married to MRI findings, rather than playing detective.

The knee hurts? There’s a meniscal tear, yeah? It doesn’t mean that patient has pain from a meniscal tear. It doesn’t mean the pain will dissipate if the meniscus is removed. In fact, I’ll put my reputation behind the fact that it won’t.

Learn to move well, then keep it moving. Seek multiple opinions, from different disciplines. What you do with your body is YOUR decision, so it helps to be educated in your choices.
