There is no worse excuse you can give for me for not getting what you want than blaming your genetics.
HYPERLINK “https://www.facebook.com/jason.kapnick?group_id=0” Jason Kapnick, RKC Level I, tamed the Beast this past weekend. He pressed, pulled, and pistol squatted a 48 kilo kettlebell – even though his genetics and surgical history should not allow him to do so. But he works to the bone and gets it done.
HYPERLINK “https://www.facebook.com/salim.poindexter?group_id=0” Salim Poindexter, RKC/SFG Level II, has supreme mesomorphic genetics, and he could most likely maintain his 12 pack abdominals by eating cake and cookies. But instead, he works to the bone and eats clean.
We are all given our gifts and our hits. What we can do for each other is drop the excuses and deliver the goods. It might take tomorrow or it might take a while. But in the end, it’s the process that matters, anyway.
A few years ago, I stopped blaming genetics and started doing work -real work – in every aspect of my life. From the moment I wake up to the moment I lay down to sleep, I am consistently attempting to be better than I was yesterday. If my genetics have brought limitations, then so be it. But I will be damned if I use them excuses not to do work.
