Channeling the Inner Ninja

You can hear me coming. That is something I am attempting to change.

It started in Nov 2011, when the great Dr. Craig Liebenson challenged me to “Move more slowly. You don’t like to be told this. But I want you to feel the control it takes.”

Then, it was reiterated at multiple seminars (and with multiple people) ever since.

“Dooley, slow down.”

How do we fast-paced folks slow it down, when it’s in our nature to speed things up? You must learn to channel the inner ninja.

I am working on taking quieter steps in walking and sprinting. I have noticed this forces me to breathe quieter and more slowly, too.

I’m learning to transition a quiet intention into a more quiet existence. I imagine putting energy into a savings account that I cash when needed.

This can also help one quiet the mind and focus on an accurate, quick, and uncomplicated diagnostic criteria with patients and clients.

Snipers and ninjas are quiet and not heard coming, and their accuracy is imperative. So, channeling the inner ninja may be of vital importance to enhancing oneself as an efficient practitioner.
