Finding Fitness

You can put in your hour at the gym every day. If that is where you find your fitness, then go get it.

But fitness is all around you. Fitness is where you find it.

Doing the daily Subway Dash and climbing subway stairs enabled me to climbs steep hills in Grenada and San Francisco. I never lost my breath or suffered a cramp.

I found fitness in the subway, and it repaid me with fitness when I ended it.

Fitness can be found on a playground, doing bodyweight drills.

Fitness can be found in a garden, pulling weeds while in a solid squat or hip hinge.

Fitness can be found in cardio chores, or The Superman game with toddlers (or adults!), or sprint-racing your friends on an abandoned street.

You don’t get bonus points for spandex and a gym membership. It’s all fitness, and it all counts.

So, go find your fitness.
