In Chinese Medicine, vivid dreams are a sign of disharmony. According to my brilliant colleague, Dr. Tony DeLandro, they provide immense insights.
I knew this good doctor for one day. He knew nothing but that I was a chiropractor and the new anatomist on staff. That’s all he had.
He told me he has done immense research on dreams. He encouraged me to write my next one down.
I rarely remember my dreams these days. But there was one.
Dooley: Tony, I have a dream for you, but I don’t remember much.
Tony: Give me what you remember.
Dooley: “I was at a seminar, but it was in a house. It was a movement seminar. The instructor started, but then the audience screamed there was a fire. I stayed. There was no fire. Gray Cook walked through the door to ask what happened. I shrugged, and we talked about movement.”
Tony: “You are a go-getter, going to the best seminars. You feel comfortable at these – like it’s home – the house. The fire is energy – you’ll stay even if there’s a fire. You’ll stay alone. That’s one. One = unity. You will go it alone if you must.
But someone you admire shows up. That’s two. Two = conflict. You are conflicted because you want to do all these things, learn all these things – but you are worried you’ll burn yourself out. That’s the fire again – the burn. The dream is a warning, that you don’t have to go it alone, doing everything. And if you try, you may have conflict by burning out.
You want to be there for people. You want to eat up all these opportunities. The fire. You feed the fire. You think, ‘Why not? I’ve got the energy!’ The fire. But the fire can burn you out.
There was no water. Water is emotion. No water to put out the fire. You don’t have emotion stopping you.
You’re not doing anything wrong. But your subconscious is warning you, trying to protect you.”
This is a scientific man that had just met me. He taught me in mere moments what our subconscious minds may be trying to tell us to approach more health, more harmony.
