Yesterday, I spent 8 hours assessing and correcting clients with 4 juggernaut trainers of Integrated Exercise Therapy.
While the 5 of us assessed with SFMA, FMS, and NKT, I marveled at their abilities to see what they see – the “eye.”
This got me thinking: I have a different background than these folks, yet we often see the same patterns. So, can the “eye” be coached?
I believe the answer must be an emphatic YES.
With effective communication,
one can coach anyone to do anything within the ability.
I’ve been flabbergasted by some of my coaches from the past year. If one truly listens and lets these perspectives marinade, one can gain some helpful tips toward developing the “eye.”
Steve Holiner and Ari Harris showed me the importance of a sharp eye in analyzing kettlebell biomechanics.
Artemis Scantalides continues to show me the definition of being strong and dedicated with the absence of excuses for eminent goal achievement.
Lois Laynee and David Weinstock showed me how eye movement, breathing, and hyoid positioning can dramatically change an assessment outcome.
Dr. Daria Dyckj shows me each week the vitality in the details of anatomy.
Brett Jones showed me the importance of foot placement being different for each individual.
The list goes on, but each one of these coaches has shown me the “eye” is developed through exposure, then application.
It can be done. So, go do it! Help and be helped.
