You will have naysayers, for every day you have something to say.
Stay your course.
You will have people befriend you, just to bask in your light -then fail to defend you when you need it.
Stay your course.
You will have colleagues that pretend to comfort you – while they use your struggles to build themselves up.
Stay your course.
You will face people that build walls, telling you it’s impossible to surpass them.
Stay your course.
You will have days that kick you in the teeth, reminding you how much more you have to learn.
Stay your course.
You may wake up tired, but you will take the time to breathe, work, and move forward.
Stay your course.
Your family may get sick, and you can’t always be there. Do what you can.
Stay your course.
When everyone else falls away, you know you look into the mirror and see the person you’ve worked to become.
Stay your course.
If you run into trouble, contact me.
I’ll remind you to stay your course.
