Words can’t express what it means to be your daughter.
But I’ll try.
People never refer to me by my first name. It’s always by my last.
That is no accident.
I bear the power of your name. I carry your legacy of compassion, ambition, generosity, work ethic, and love.
When a patient calls me, “Dr. Dooley,” I am serious and proud to serve.
When a room shouts “Dr. Dooley!” with a plea for help, I rush to the students’ table.
When someone refers to work as the “Dooley Drill,” it is a reflection of our work ethic.
There is no hesitation in representing you.
I wake up every day, excited to start it. I end each day knowing I have represented you with honor. I’m doing what I love, and that’s all you’ve ever wanted for me.
I’m working hard, just as you always have. I never complain, just as you never have.
I am strong, just like you. I am fun, just like you. I will give till I have nothing left, just like you.
I will stay my course. No one will stop me. No one will stop us.
Mom and Dad, I am forever your daughter. I’ll represent our name with honor until my last breath. Dooley Noted.
