Dooley Noted: 1/18/2014
An NKT student from a recent seminar kindly reached out to me, encouraging me to change my profile pic. After meeting me in person, he noted the “profile pic doesn’t do you justice.” He encouraged me to use a “prettier” profile picture.
I am committed to spreading anatomic knowledge to the world.
I’ve helped to dissect over 700 faces. This week, it was 30 more.
After the skin is gone, our faces all look strikingly similar.
That is why you see my face half- dissected. Half of me is seen as you meet me. The other half is quite similar to how you look.
I’m raw and honest, and sometimes, it’s not traditionally beautiful. But I strive to be as real as you are underneath your skin.
I need my readers to know that I may look different than you in the mirror. But underneath, you’d be hard-pressed to tell us apart.
So, I won’t be changing my profile picture. It may not be the prettiest picture, but it signifies every inch of who I am. It’s my lifelong pursuit of anatomy and putting the real on display. It’s the cover of my book, and it’s the cover of my website.
It’s Dooley Noted, and it’s an honor to represent the brand.
This time – it’s my call.
