Yesterday, I had the immense pleasure of leading NKT Level II in London.
Two of my assistants were the creator and engineers behind Anatomy in Motion, Gary Ward and Chris Sritharan.
After the seminar, these brilliant men assessed my movement with their system. The lateral rotation in my thigh and foot had been impervious to years of therapeutic and exercise correction.
They helped me change it in one hour. It is still fixed this morning. Now it’s up to me to keep it there with my homework.
When I asked Gary, this brilliant creator, how he came up with his system, he said the following:
“It’s pretty simple. It’s common sense, isn’t it?”
Dooley: “I don’t think it is, actually, or people would be doing it!”
Gary: “I suppose it’s uncommon sense.”
I couldn’t stop thinking his description of uncommon sense. How do we become so out of touch with our bodies? I had.
We tend to ignore how our bodies feel and think we are slaves to our anatomy.
It’s not true!
Our bodies can change. Our gait can change. I watched mine change in minutes.
Anatomy in Motion uses triplanar assessment of movement from the ground up, with specific emphasis on the foot.
We all would like to make this sense of movement more common!
