Why I Wont Help You Up

Dooley Noted: 3/8/2014

No matter how young or old you are, I am not helping you get off my treatment table.

And no matter how much pain you have, I am still not helping you get off of my treatment table.

Does that read as mean?

I am sorry if you feel that way, but I won’t be changing.

The way you get off that table means as much to me as the drills you do or any changes you implement.

Your strategy to get up tells me how you get out of bed at home. I’m not there to help you at home. Why would I help you in my office?

You don’t depend on me at home.

Don’t depend on me in my office.

My job is to help you learn how to better help yourself.

So please, get off the table safely.

I’ll be watching. I will catch you if you fall.

If it isn’t safe, I will help you learn to get up safely.

You will learn how to better help yourself off my table.

We will both be better for it, should you adopt my way of thinking.

As always, it’s your call.
