I’ve been in busy season. And sometimes, things get put on the backburner.
They are left to slowly scorch. They eventually make themselves known.
Mine was my computer.
I use my phone and tablet so much that I never really think about my laptop. My oft-used devices have a back-up system performed every few minutes on a mysterious cloud of data.
My laptop hasn’t been backed up in months. I realized this when the hard drive fried.
Genius Bar: I’m afraid your hard drive failed our diagnostics.
Dooley: That sounds like the opposite of what’s good.
Genius Bar: Do you have Time Machine for backup?
Dooley: I’m wishing I had a Time Machine right now! I’ve heard of that, but just used a portable drive. I haven’t backed up in ages! It slipped my mind.
So, in the computer world, you spend a chunk of money to get your data back and get a new computer.
In the real world, your body doesn’t work that way.
What you are putting on the back burner might be slowly scorching.
Maybe you’re “busy.”
Maybe you need to prioritize.
If your system is running slowly or painfully, get yourself a backup system.
Get assessed and corrected.
It might be the way you pick up your shoes or kids.
It might be the way you hold your bag.
It might be the shoes you wear, or the chair in which you sit (far too often).
Some daily checks and balances provide you necessary backup. You might need to do some things every day to prevent a slow meltdown of your body.
While you’re at it, also back up your computers.
As always, it’s your call.
