March Madness

Dooley Noted: 3/31/2014

This March had 5 weekends and it’s typical 31 days.

But I took no weekends off. Each one was spent teaching NKT, from Australia to the Midwest to my home base in New York City.

I used to live for March, because of March Madness and the NCAA tournament. My fondest memories of childhood including watching Mom count up bracket results and watch nail-biting games.

As things have changed, I can’t tell you who is in the Sweet Sixteen.

But I experienced my own March Madness, filled with intense commitments to teaching and patients.

And now, the madness is over.

When the madness ends, you are on the other side of that grass you thought was greener. And in ways, it is.

As the schools rap up their anatomy programs, I’m left with time gaps to learn even more for myself.

As I take a break from teaching NKT for a few months, I can apply it’s principles even more to my own patients.

Amazing things are in the works for this summer, from incredible trips to intense acupuncture studies to new locations and new relationships. A book may finally get released.

But April is the calm before and after any madness, which I equally appreciate.

I lived a dream this past month, just as I have the past year.

Now, it’s time to rejuvenate and come back even more powerful.

As always, it’s my call.
