I’m a chiropractor, not a surgeon.
Unless you count my cadaveric dissections, I don’t get to explore by cutting people open.
I’m confined to the small stuff
But ask someone with pain how small it feels.
Pain can alter and encompass one’s life, especially if one can’t do the small things.
My days consist of helping people do pain-free pull-ups and push-ups, or fastening the bra without pain, or reaching to the overhead compartment without having to ask for help.
This stuff is not so small if you can’t do it pain-free!
Simple things get taken for granted until they are taken away. The simple loss of motor control and functional stability can result in serious discomfort – even though the structure may or may not be altered.
Imagine a train being able to slightly go off track but pop back onto it. Nothing may be wrong with the train, but the way the train is driven has potentially deleterious effects.
If you are having trouble with the small stuff, get assessed and corrected before the train completely derails.
You’re often given many warnings first by losing comfort in the small stuff.
As always, it’s your call.
