Yesterday, I was completely overwhelmed.
This was the day:
Five hours of solid sleep.
Shower.
Post blog.
Patients 6:45-1pm straight.
Swings and push-ups in between.
Studied for quiz on the train.
Taught anatomy lab.
Studied on the train to school.
Returned patient emails.
Took a quiz and three hours of class.
Called someone I love on the class break.
More swings when I got home.
Video analysis and uploads and emails sent.
It was eleven PM, and my day was done.
I laid in bed, completely overwhelmed.
But it wasn’t from stress.
I was overwhelmed by the beauty of the life I made.
I entertwined rehab, chiropractic, medicine, and acupuncture in the same day – the same life.
I wept, so grateful of the lives I touch and the lives that touch me.
I beamed with pride for the woman I became, a woman my parents are proud they raised.
I gave, and I took.
I taught, and I learned.
I inspired by doing, leading by example.
And I get to do it all over again each day.
You can look at your life as if it is happening to you, or you can understand that you alone make it happen. You react to it as you choose.
As always, it’s your call.
