In 2006, I was in my final year of chiropractic school.
We completed our own business plans.
I had never really considered running my own show until I was assigned it to be able to graduate.
I thought about the type of doctor I wanted to be for the patient population who sought my help.
I didn’t want to adjust 100 people a day and cash a check. I wanted to be an efficiency expert, helping them to better help themselves.
I wanted to be a catalyst, speeding the results of an interaction.
I named my faux business “Catalyst.”
Eight years later, being a catalyst is still all I want to be in this life.
But I want to offer more than just chiropractic care. I wanted the pentavirate of care:
Strength.
Performance.
Orthopedics.
Rehabilitation.
Training.
On July 1, my 8 year-old Capstone business assignment – and dream – comes into fruition in midtown Manhattan.
This dream is Catalyst S.P.O.R.T, LLC.
I will team up with some of the finest trainers in New York City that share my paradigm.
We will bring the best fitness and rehab education right inside our doors.
From kettlebells to handstands, we will show how strength is the foundation of the pentavirate.
From Olympic lifting to human flags, we will show how performance is cultivated within the pentavirate.
From pinchy pain on squatting to elbow discomfort on pull-ups, Dr. Kathy Dooley, PLLC will be right inside, waiting for you to get to the root of your pain. We will show how orthopedic and rehabilitative assessments protect the pentavirate.
From crawling-for-time to snatch testing, we will show how training fuels the pentavirate.
We will house seminars like NKT, Restorative Breathing, sandbags, kettlebell trainers courses and certs.
We will premiere my own correctives seminar series, steeped with the functional anatomy taught by an anatomist.
We want nothing more than to serve our community and catalyze excellence in trainees and trainers, doctors and patients, therapists and clients.
We are Catalyst S.P.O.R.T.
