Extra Space

Dooley Noted: 6/22/2024

On average, I work about 80 hours a week.

I don’t do this because I must. I do it out of pure, unfiltered dedication and love for my career choices.

So, I am seldomly home.

It was a huge decision for me to get my own apartment in Queens, a borough of New York City. My roommates were some of my best friends, and I was rarely home. So, why move?

I awoke yesterday to a fairly empty apartment.

I’ve been known to be a minimalist in more ways than my shoes and workouts. So, I didn’t have much to fill an apartment.

And then I realized I could do rolling patterns and get-ups on my floor.

I could dance and do forward rolls.

To the readers not in New York, let me assume that you take this extra space for granted.

I hope you channel New Yorkers today and just roll around the grass and move within your space.

If you have a living room where you can roll without hitting things, please practice your rolling patterns and forward rolls.

If you can spin your arms around without hitting walls, do it.

If you can lay flat on the floor in the get-up position, do get-ups.

Use that extra space to MAKE more space in your day to move in it.

As always, it’s your call.
