After a year of planning, I finally have an office to call home, within a gym I co-own named Catalyst S.P.O.R.T.
I suppose it’s the closest I will ever feel to having a newborn. I knew it would have stresses, but I can’t even feel them. It’s quickly become a place I care about with infinite concern and endless love and commitment.
Yesterday, I found myself happily humming as I picked up styrofoam bits off the floor with packing tape. I love the floor that much.
I watched as my friends and colleagues, like Margaret Vieira (aka Meredith), Joe “Watch Out For Him” Gonzalez, Eric Chessen, and Marc Andresen volunteered their time to help us unpack 3,500 pounds of equipment.
While being equally impressed, I laughed as the great Joe Boffi and beast tamer Jason Kapnick attempted to use their grip to pick up a 100 pound plate flush on the floor. I’ve never been more proud to know two men, let alone call them my business partners/fellow gym co-owners.
I had the honor of treating patients inside my own treatment room for the first time in my life.
Dr. Dooley has a permanent office.
It was such bliss to hear Mr. Boffi and Mr. Kapnick crushing weight outside my treatment door with their clients, some of which were also my patients. I watched them take people who were battling pain and make a safe environment for them to grow strong.
It was everything I’ve ever wanted in a facility.
And the day ended with the NKT study group, having a helpful discussion of shoulder rotation. We laughed, engaged, questioned, tested, and analyzed.
The study group members capped things off by gifting me with beautiful kettlebell gear and an amazing poem that now hangs in my office.
Yesterday was one of the best days of my life.
Today just added to it. Every day will just add to it.
As the equipment arrives and platforms are built, I’ve never been more proud to be associated with a business.
I am home.
Come by and visit sometime. It’s a great location to get pain-free and strong, at your pace.
As always, it’s your call.
