I am absolutely the last to board any flight.
Forget Priority Access. I don’t make it a priority to be the first on a flight to sit down.
I will let everyone else walk single file as they wait to board. I will gladly stay in a nearby corner, doing breathing drills, gait stretches, push-ups, pistols, and mobility drills.
While you wait for everyone else to hurry onto the plane, remember that you will soon be forced to sit for several hours.
Consider holding out to be the last to board.
Let everyone walk in front of you on the bridge as you do mobility drills and walking lunges.
Smile and excuse yourself to let people pass. They want on the plane.
You can put it off.
Here are some drills I like to use to put off boarding that flight:
1. Squats
2. Walking lunges
3. Hip flexor stretches
4. Handstands
5. Marching in place
6. Push-ups
7. Deadlifting your carry-on
8. Walking kicks
9. Straw breathing
10. Side lunges
11. Mobility drills for the ankle, knee, wrist, elbow, shoulder
12. Abdominal stability drills, such as curl-ups, crow stands, and plank variations
You will not slow the boarding of that plane. But you might slow the progression of discomfort that plane-riding often inflicts.
As always, it’s your call.
