The Puddle Jumper

A few days ago, we had a solid storm.

A New Yorker can always tell the kids from the adults in a special way when it rains.

Kids are leaping from under their umbrellas, jumping puddles and giggling wildly.

Adults are grumbling, speeding to avoid the puddles and ticked off that Mother Nature has changed her plans.

You can be somewhere in between.

Yes, your shoes are fancy. Jump the puddle. It feels good to jump. Eventually, you will have to jump over something, so you may want to prime your system to avoid injury.

Yes, your clothes and bag are getting wet. But they will dry while your grumpy mood remains.

When it rains, I feel myself get drenched. I feel that moment where I decide if I am going to let Mother Nature ruin my day.

It seems like a ridiculous choice when you think about it. You could be happy and have fun puddle jumping, or you can get grouchy and mad at things you can’t control.

I hope you choose to laugh and puddle jump. Fitness – and happiness – are where you find it.

As always, it’s your call.
