The Aberrant Taxi

Dooley Noted: 8/9/2014

I was late to the airport, cutting it closer than is comfortable.

I caught a taxi, and I told the driver I was a bit behind. He said he would get me there on time.

As he drove, he took roads unfamiliar to me. I became a tad nervous.

At first I thought he was turned around, not knowing what he was doing. Instead of getting lippy, I gave him the benefit of the doubt.

I looked down at the Grand Central Parkway. The traffic was crawling as we raced forward on our backway.

Had I interfered, I may have even missed my flight. He got me there with time to spare.

Of course, I shook my head. This paralleled my job as a movement specialist.

Sometimes my patients have that same nervousness. My way is different than they’ve experienced. But it gets them to their destination with efficiency.

Sometimes we have to take an aberrant path to get to the destination in a way we never imagined.

As always, it’s your call.
