Seeming Small

Dooley Noted: 8/17/2014

I flew for 21 total hours yesterday.

As I looked out the windows, I viewed the Australian Alps, the vast ocean surrounding Hawaii, the aerial highway views of LA, and the land of everything in between until I landed in New York.

On these flights, I finally realized how minute I was. I feel so big, yet I am so small in the vastness that is our universe.

Perhaps that is why I feel the need to do big things with such a small life.

We are small with a short time spent here on Earth. But the domino effect we can parlay to others can last for years to come.

The kindness given to a server can carry over to everyone he serves that day. That could be 200 people. The people then domino their attitudes to everyone else with whom they interact.

We are small – but we have global impact.

You can pretend that you are too small to matter. Or, you can own up to the global effects you have as you look out the airplane window.

As always, it’s your call.
