Make no mistake: No one is a bigger fan of my patients or students than I.
But I am no cheerleader. I am a tough and tender coach.
I will applaud you, but I will always bring you right back down to earth to show you how much more there is to learn.
I will never apologize for the way I teach nor the way I coach or rehabilitate.
I absolutely believe in you, as others have believed in me.
But my mentors have never been easy on me. They have acknowledged my efforts but always stated, “How can you do even better?”
And I’m better for it.
Here’s the truth: if you reach out for my help, I will warn you on the first visit or teaching session that you will be analyzed to the highest standards.
You are worth your evolution.
To evolve, one must rise to new heights. To get to these heights, we must go through arduous climbs. While I can’t hold your hand, I will be nearby, walking alongside you.
Discouragement is wasted energy. Funnel frustration into usable fuel to do good work.
And if my coaching style is not for you, I’m happy to refer you to a trusted colleague with a different style.
As always, it’s your call.
