In 2007, I graduated chiropractic school. I went straight into my anatomy masters program.
In 2010, I finished my fellowship and completed another year of full time teaching.
So, I am in my third full year of clinical practice.
I worked as an associate for 6 months under one practitioner and 1 year with another successful practice.
It only took 1.5 years for me to realize I can only do things well if I do them my way.
I went out on my own.
Not only did I greatly increase my income, I significantly improved my outcomes -with patients and with professional satisfaction.
So, why don’t most people break out on their own?
That’s easy: it’s usually fear.
This fear only exists if fed.
You might fear patients won’t come. But they will, if you devote yourself to their care.
You might fear leaving a job with benefits. But in most cases, you pay for those benefits by making a lesser wage.
You might not be good at networking. But you rarely get better at that skill working for someone else.
When it’s your show, a work devotion turns on that is stronger than an employer’s provided salary.
You’ll be called to duty, and much of your success will rely on your devotion, effort, and self education.
If that doesn’t sound right for you, then stay right where you are.
If you’re ready to build something that is yours, I encourage the leap.
We will be doing a live webinar on building your own rehab practice at Catalyst SPORT. Stay tuned.
I am devoted to helping people like myself work in a similar environment, where they run their own show.
As always, it’s your call.
