Dooley Noted: 1/1/2015
Four years ago today, I made a resolution to make a daily post, observing my experiences with health and fitness.
It became a consistent aspect of my daily life as the Dooley Noted blog series. It may even now be a daily part of your life, too.
Today is my 1,464th post. I’ve yet to miss a day in four years.
No matter the resolution you set for yourself, carry it out.
Make the commitment non-negotiable, like teeth-brushing and showering.
We are what we consistently do. So, the resolution must become part of you.
Resolutions require behavior change.
Resolutions require commitment to a bigger purpose.
Resolutions are more than uttered words of grandeur.
People fail because they will not change.
You can’t disappoint yourself if you simply don’t make a resolution.
But in the event you did – make your steps toward change non-negotiable steps.
The feeling of success cannot be replicated. And to commit to oneself is a feeling of power that can only come from within you.
Every day, I read this quote by Slim the Hammer Man:
“I’d rather die than break my word to myself.”
I hope you find the internal integrity to make your resolution an honest, sustainable life change.
As always, it’s your call.
