The Failure Factor

Dooley Noted: 2/22/2015

It’s rare to meet more tenacious people than Jason Kapnick and Long Duong of Catalyst SPORT.

These two powerlifters competed today at the WNPF All Raw Tournament of Champions.

They both have reason for great praise today, as they smashed through goals. Jason managed to pull a 1535 raw total, crushing his previous total and earning best lifter at the meet.

What’s more amazing than their results? The process to get them there involved failure.

They never let the bar stop them.

They never let failure distract them from the goal.

It’s so easy to face hard things and to give up.

It’s easy to convince yourself that because you can’t currently do it – you never will.

Failure is a liar.

Failure is also an educator.

You can use the fuel of failure to create new strategies.

You can allow failure to make you creative, considering new depths to your own tenacity.

I’ve watched Jason and Long pull enormous amounts of weight on a nearly daily basis.

They put in the work.

If they missed a rep at a meet, they don’t stomp their feet and throw in the towel.

They go back to work.

They train smart and hard.

There is no result without the process.

And it’s an honor to watch their processes lead to the results of goal achievements.

If you’re failing, use it.

Strategize.

Plan.

Do good work.

Don’t stomp your feet and give up.

That’s the only sure way to never get what you want.

As always, it’s your call.
