On Mon and Tues, we conducted the Australian premiere of our anatomy and corrective workshop called Immaculate Dissection.
It was our second seminar to date – but it was on another continent, in another hemisphere!
We helped the 13 Melbourne attendees palpate the core muscles and their attachments.

Live models were painted with anatomy by the great Danny Quirk to demonstrate anatomical locations.
After day one, attendees were already emailing me with how they applied their newfound palpation enhancements and anatomical connections to the clinical setting.
On day two, we put the anatomy into action. We discussed intraabdominal pressure and core stability in various core exercises, from breathing to hanging leg raise.
The attendees expressed shock at how they’d been compensating in basic core activities like the plank and the crawl.

We watched Vesna, a seminar attendee and body worker, struggle with the idea of the hanging leg raise.
She stated, “I’m 61. I can’t do this! I’m 94 kilos!”
After some technique advice and core stability, she went from frustration and fear to a 5 second hang from a bar!

She kept going back for more when we weren’t looking.
At the end of Tuesday, the Immaculate Dissection team sat back as the attendees cued each other on everything from crawls to planks to sledgehammer rotations.
It was a seminar I will never forget.
ID Melbourne solidified for me even further that anatomy matters.
Everyone needs to brush up on their anatomy and correctives – pun intended.
We can help you rethink the anatomy in a functional and applicable way.
And we are coming to a city near you!

As always, it’s your call.
