Jetlag is not fun.
Jetlag plus heartbreak is even less fun.
Add those to the gossip mill trying to threaten your professionalism, and it makes for a three-day shot of sleep deprivation.
I live my life by intense rules of truth and integrity. So when my integrity is threatened, I can’t lay there defenseless.
I investigate.
That took up several hours of my evening, into this morning.
And I found what I was likely to find: fabrications in an attempt to sully my name.
I woke after my brief sleep, feeling motivated to show up on certain people’s doorsteps.
Then I remembered that no one who hired me would believe lies told about me.
Gossip is low. It’s beneath you. Rise up.
And you are better than gossip.
Gossip creates gall, envy, and torture that disrupt digestion and create mal-stress. This stress exacerbates anxiety, tension headaches, and other preexisting symptoms associated with stress.
So, I am attempting to let it go. It will likely help me to hit PRs in my workout today.
I will channel the energy into something useful.
If you are gossiping, do us all a favor. Just stop. Words are painful. You are hurting people. You might get hurt yourself.
If you aren’t busy enough, come find me. I’ll give you work to do.
If you are listening to gossip, please take a second to realize that if they are talking about others, they are talking about you, too.
Guaranteed.
As always, it’s your call.
