People Who’ve Changed Me: Part 26

Dooley Noted: 6/13/2015
The Person: Dr. Robert Walker

Profession: biological anthropologist and professor of anatomy, New York Chiropractic College (NYCC)

How I know him:

Dr. Walker was the founding dean of the Master of Science in Clinical Anatomy program at NYCC. I was the lucky chosen one to first matriculate into the fellowship, where I spent three years learning and teaching human cadaveric dissection and anatomy instruction.

How he’s changed me:

Dr. Walker showed me the power of determination. He never let me whine about the difficulty of my program, yet he consistently exhibited confidence in my abilities (even when I didn’t for myself).

He single-handedly changed the course of my life by guiding me as my thesis advisor and dean. Because of his trust and guidance, I began a career that helped me understand the clinical correlations of human anatomy.

I am forever in his debt, and I strive every day to make him proud.
