The Assistants

At every NeuroKinetic Therapy seminar I teach, I am honored to teach alongside incredible assistant instructors.

So far, I’ve experienced this on three continents, as the NKT certified practitioners clamor to assistant teach.

These teachers volunteer their time and expertise to help out the new students.

And what’s amazing is how I get to watch them grow.

My boss, David Weinstock, encouraged me to assistant instruct, and I was always a bit nervous to do so.

I thought, “How could I teach when I have so much left to learn?”

But, I provided help to others through my struggles, enough for David to consider me as a lead instructor.

As I started taking on my own assistants, we became a formidable team that helped our newcomers.

I’ve had the honor of watching overwhelmed newcomers become confident, proficient teachers.

They jump right in and help the students. When they are unsure of an answer, they go to each other or to me.

We are a teaching team – and we grow the more we unite.

This weekend, I found myself more listening than stepping in, as assistants Antonia, Carly, Laura, and Sylvia guided their groups of eager students.

I saw them all in early stages of learning. And now – they are confident and focused, helpful and knowledgeable.

It’s amazing to be on their team.

I hope you surround yourself with people eager to learn and to teach.

And I hope that if you’re considering helping someone, you talk yourself into it.

I’m sure you have plenty to teach.

As always, it’s your call.
