The Person: Joe Boffi
Profession: strength coach and COO of Catalyst SPORT, LLC
How I know him: In 2012, I hosted David Whitley, Master SFG, for a strength seminar in NYC. As fate would have it, fellow SFG Ari Harris brought Joe Boffi as a birthday gift.
How he’s changed me:
Joe and I started sharing clients. As we built them back up from injury, Joe said we should start a business together. Enter Jason Kapnick, and Catalyst SPORT was born.
Joe made me believe in being part of a team. He’s taught me to not kid myself, and he taught me to never sacrifice my patient time for my own training time.
Because of him, I schedule my training like an appointment with myself.
Joe is like family to me. He never hesitates to tell me the truth and call me out when he thinks I’m mistaken. He helps me understand the power of accountability and integrity.
Through his injuries, he never gives up on himself or me. He trusts me with his care, and he understands that I, too, am still learning. His fine athleticism inspires me, but I think I’m inspired the most by how he brilliantly makes the complex quite succinct.
