This weekend, I had the honor of helping teach Immaculate Dissection I: Core Concepts for the first time ever in Canada.
As we discussed the anatomy of the core muscles, I found myself answering thought-provoking questions from trainers, yoga instructors, and manual therapists.
As we performed challenging palpations, I found myself learning more and more connections.
That’s the secret about teaching.
When you’re responsible to help others, your own understanding is solidified.
You don’t just have to teach because you have knowledge that you want to share.
You can teach because you have new connections to discover with the material.
As I was asked about positioning cues for correctives, I noticed myself searching for clearer ways to describe information.
As movement debates were initiated, we had healthy discussions about common viewpoints and their potential holes.
It was so invigorating to be helping my brilliant colleagues understand anatomical connections.
But it was what they gave back to me that keeps me wanting more.
Thank you, Immaculate Dissection I: Toronto, for your brilliant questions and your attention this weekend to the details.
We will keep working hard to make the seminar even more beneficial to you.
You can keep take seminars to learn more.
But you can teach to learn more about what you share.
As always, it’s your call.
