The Letter

Dooley Noted: 8/6/2015

Yesterday, I returned from a short trip.

I had some time to think about how I affect my patients, family, and friends.

I was overwhelmed with the feeling that I’m falling short.

It’s amazing how the universe will interfere and put you on the right pathway of thinking again.

I returned to Catalyst SPORT to find a handwritten letter, which is pretty rare these days.

It was a student that had taken both the Immaculate Dissection core course, as well as NeuroKinetic Therapy courses.

She not only discussed how I affected her as a teacher, but also as a person.

She wrote about how my kindness and love comes out in my assessments and my teaching.

She thanked me for the unseen hours I put into my own education, in order to be able to help people like her.

She thanked me for my attention to detail during my assessments, and she gave me credit for helping her regain the confidence she needed in her own body and its strength.

She noted that her workouts no longer break her down but build her up, and she said she had a renewed excitement for her work.

As I cried with joy, I was reassured that I was on the right pathway.

Even though I struggle, too, I can still knowledge share to help other people.

This inspired me to reach out to the people that change me, more than just once a week on a blog post.

If people in your life are making great changes, they may not know how much they affect you.

I hope you reach out to them, just as the student did for me.

As always, it’s your call.
