The Person: Kristin Dankanich
Profession: advertising executive, kettlebell instructor, fellow steel-bender
How I know her:
I was blessed to be assigned as Kristin’s teammate for the Russian Kettlebell Challenge certification weekend in September 2012. We continue to follow each other to strength seminars, from SFG II to steel-bending and phonebook ripping seminars.
How she’s changed me:
Kristin and I had the shared experience of failing our snatch tests at that RKC. It would be the first and last time that would happen!
We both learned from failure, and it bonded us for life.
Kristin’s zero tolerance for pretentions showed me the structure of being a powerful female.
She dominates a successful advertising practice, while earning a degree from Yale – and continued to teach kettlebell classes.
Today, I get to watch my beautiful friend get married to a man she’s been with for years. She didn’t fall into the societal pressures of the typical relationship, and they decided to get married on their own terms.
Kristin continues to inspire me to understand what being a powerful female means.
