Seminar Review: NeuroKinetic Therapy (NKT) Symposium

Dooley Noted: 9/20/2015

This weekend, I was given the honor of speaking and attending the first ever NKT Symposium.

I flew Friday night after teaching to San Diego, where I had to miss a fun dinner and cookie bake-off that bonded the NKT community.

But all was redeemed on Saturday, when the seminar went full-force with general assemblies on cleaning up techniques and working with client emotional issues during sessions.

Other breakouts included performance breathing, pediatric gait, advanced shoulder and hip assessments, corrective exercise strategies, and many more topics.

I gave talks on the corrective strategies for pelvic floor and hip compression. The feedback was so helpful to figure out what the attendees needed.

As a member of this respectful and attentive rehab community, I knew that lecturing TO people wouldn’t work. The session was interactive, with brilliant questions fielded as I attempted to give them what they needed.

We had a blast!

I had a chance to meet people from across the world that shared my fondness for NKT principles. I also met people who avidly read this blog, the people I consider friends on my journey of daily discovery through Dooley Noted.

Hugging my readers in person was surreal and so blissful that I fear the come-down on this flight home!

But I’m still riding high, remembering the beautiful moments of learning from incredible teachers and sharing in selfies with people that share my treatment paradigm.

Last night I was honored to sit at a round table of brilliant and kind instructors, discussing the future of our seminars and how we’d like to improve attendee experience.

And I got to bear-hug the people that are changing the world, one client at a time.

I was honored this morning to give a general assembly on functional hip anatomy. It was a highlight of career, to share a topic that fuels me to a community I respect and adore.

This weekend, I lived out my dreams.

If you have not taken an NKT seminar yet, I hope you don’t wait.

I don’t care if I’m your instructor or not. They are all amazing. JUST GO. It will be the best decision you’ve made in a long time.

If you are already NKT I certified, consider taking level II. Again, it will be the best decision you’ve made (since taking Level I).

The same goes for NKT II certified folks. Just make that jump to level III. You can handle it!

As always, it’s your call.
