The Worthiness

Dooley Noted: 9/26/2015

I have met people who feel they are unworthy of love.

They say they want it, but then do everything to push it away when it presents itself.

I see similarities in people who don’t want to get well.

I’ve dealt with a fair share of chronic pain patients that don’t want to get better.

That may sound harsh, but these are the people that don’t follow your correctives or your advice.

It’s as if they are paying for an opinion to validate the choices they already made.

And if it doesn’t match, you can’t help them.

If you don’t feel you are worthy of healing, then you will sabotage your healing process.

You may not even realize you’re doing it until you hit a moment of clarity.

To my therapists: help who you can reach. Learn as much as you can to help people.

To the world of patients: reach out when you are ready, and please know that you are worth all the effort of healing.

As always, it’s your call.
