Dooley Noted: 10/5/2015
This past weekend, I got to teach for the first time alongside both my business partners, Jason Kapnick and Joe Boffi.
It’s amazing how you can work side-by-side with someone every day, but you can still pick up new things from them.
We were assisting at the Russian Kettlebell Challenge (RKC) level one instructor certification.
I’ve never known assistants to get a shot at teaching sections to the candidates. But our Master Chief, Josh Henkin, gave the three of us an opportunity to teach.
Jason taught the clean, and his progressions followed the manual to the letter. This man knows his manual! I was so impressed by the helpful progressions being put into the Kapnick spin. His humor and focus are unparalleled, and it was marvelous watching him communicate with the candidates.
Then, Joe taught the goblet squat. When I met Joe, his back pain was so severe that he couldn’t squat. He worked so hard on his correctives and took beautiful care of his back. Look at that spinal perfection in his goblet squat!
It’s a ridiculous honor to own a business with these dynamos. But to teach alongside them was icing to a cake to which I never knew I’d have access. I am living out dreams I couldn’t even imagine being this good!
