I’m getting an influx of questions from friends and family, asking what I want for the holidays.
I loathe stuff.
I try to get rid of it when it accumulates.
One of the most liberating moments of my life was when I had a very expensive car stolen.
I had put stock in material things, and I wasn’t prepared to experience the loss felt when they vanished.
So I started putting weight in things that couldn’t be taken away.
I found value in people and their thoughtfulness.
If you want to gift me, keep your cash.
Here’s my holiday wish list.
1. Shoot me a text for no reason.
2. Give me your phone call.
3. Hang out with me and talk about nothing and everything.
4. Party with me.
5 Talk anatomy with me.
6. Save phonebooks for me to tear.
7. Hug me so long that I’m the one who initiates the release.
8. Go to a show or movie with me.
9. Act silly on the streets of anywhere with me.
10. Come train with me at Catalyst SPORT – or whatever city we are in together.
11. Sing karaoke with me.
12. Dance with me as if no one were watching.
13. Go on a road trip or travel with me.
14. Bond over music with me.
15. Get lost in Manhattan or anywhere with me.
16. Come to the lab with me.
17. Share my blog or videos so others can benefit.
18. Send me memes that make you think of me.
19. Shoot hoops with me.
20. Take great pictures of us and share them with me.
21. Just think of me and smile, letting me know without speaking that I make your life better.
Save your money.
These are the things I hold in high currency.
As always, it’s your call.
