The Reflection

Dooley Noted: 12/31/2015

The year was intense.

It saw the premiere of our seminar series, Immaculate Dissection – which landed us on three different continents.

It saw the growth of Catalyst SPORT into a house of gain with relief from pain.

It saw the staving off of cancer for one more year, with a grateful family for its patriarch’s survival.

It saw injuries and illnesses that served as education and catapults to new levels of strength.

It saw the healing of one of the most important friendships of my life.

It saw me believe in love enough to try it twice – and see it end twice.

While I celebrate the massive changes to my life from 2015, I also know I won’t be ringing in the new year drunk in a bar.

No judgment. That was just never my style anyway.

When there’s work to be done, one must do it.

So, here I am again at the airport to do the hard work.

Meditation has never worked well for me – but when Jonathan Fernandez says he will teach you anything, you RUN to him.

Jonathan reminded me of this truth, as I wait for my flight:

“When we are at our weakest is only when we can become our strongest.”

It’s time to rise up. My strength has been waiting for me.

I looked at my reflection in the airport bathroom. The woman I have built is brave, strong, and full of love and passion.

The year has reflected my efforts. But I looked at her and saw nothing but potential.

I saw a woman who has not given up on love.

I saw a woman who is building the lats to hold her spine high against adversity.

And I saw a woman who recognizes she has much more work to do and much more potential to grasp.

This is the year she becomes an Iron Maiden – in more ways than one.

To you devoted readers, I wish you so much clarity in your reflections from 2015.

And I hope sometime tonight, you open up your heart to see all the potential strength that’s at your fingertips – if you do the good work to reach for it.

As always, it’s your call.
