Billable Hours

Dooley Noted: 2/13/2016

When I left my salary position as a chiropractor, I was terrified.

At first, i was flooded with self-deprecating and stagnating thoughts.

“What if I can’t get new patients?”

“Will I go broke if I don’t get paid hourly?”

You morph those thoughts into a focus on your drive – and why you want to leave that salary job in the first place.

You want freedom.

You want full control over your time and practice scope.

You want to do things your way.

But you should know right off that you will work well past your billable hours.

Nine to five is over.

You will work ten times as hard for your freedom.

You will earn control by taking it – and there’s no one else to blame when things go wrong.

You have full accountability.

And if all that sounds like an even trade, then welcome to my club.

I have never looked back on that salary job.

And yes, I work well past the billable hours.

But that freedom pays a reward that supersedes currency.

If you find yourself ready to make that jump, you’ll always have a cheerleader in me.

Or, you can continue with your nine to five salary job, wondering what is on the other side of the time clock.

As always, it’s your call.
