The Valentine’s Day Gifts

Dooley Noted: 2/14/2016

For the last few years, I have spent Valentine’s Day weekend in Toronto, teaching NeuroKinetic Therapy.

I got the best gift for this holiday: to share my love of movement with gracious, open-minded students.

Then I got another gift: my fiancé holding me up as he tore a deck of bicycle cards.

As I boarded to go back home to NYC, I realize how much I’d love to spend every Valentine’s Day just like this.

I never want to receive any extrinsic gifts.

When you can teach a subject you love to people who love it on the day of love – no gift can touch it.

When your fiancé tells you, “You’re my dream Valentine. Not just today – every day” – no gift can touch that, either.

When every day involves full commitment to what you love, then every day is Valentine’s Day.

I hope you get all the real gifts you deserve – with full return on what you’ve given.

As always, it’s your call.
