People Who’ve Changed Me: Part 61

Dooley Noted: 2/18/2016

The Person: Betty Braun

Her profession: retired owner of her own hair salon

How I know her:

Aunt Betty is married to my mother’s brother, Bob. I have known her all my life, and she has consistently been the kindest, most supportive woman I’ve ever known.

When I was a theater major, she came to all my shows to cheer me on.

When I started my endeavors to become a movement master, she sent me notes of encouragement.

When I embarked on a life of fitness, she sent me inspirational clip-outs.

She took the time to hand-write letters to me and keep me informed in how the family was doing.

This was long before Facebook – and long after it became popular.

How she’s changed me:

Aunt Betty showed me at a young age that a woman could be an entrepreneur, owning and running her own business.

Aunt Betty may be currently struggling with her health, but she is a true vision of strength to me.

She has shown me nothing but her unconditional love and kindness for every day of my 37 years.

Since I became an aunt at 6, she showed me how to love and be a proper auntie to my nieces and nephews.

Whether you believe in prayer or positive vibes, please send some on the way to Aunt Betty. I’m sure she would love a return on all the love she has given out each day.

Honor and acknowledge the people that change you.

As always, it’s your call.
