The Reason for a Quick Wedding

Dooley Noted: 4/1/2016

Having just met my fiancé in person for the first time in December, I’m surprised I haven’t got more flack for the lightning-speed at which we became engaged to be married.

Many say, “When you know, you know,” when it comes to finding your partner.

Others get married because they are surprised with the formation of a new life.

As a 37 year-old, career-driven female, I just assumed having children was not in the cards for me.

But babies are a big part of what I teach in my career.

Having the DNS posters on my wall, I teach every patient about the importance of the neurodevelopmental stages of movement.

These are based upon the movement progressions of the baby.

By the context of this text, you’re probably gathering tha tJonathan and I are getting married quickly because we are pregnant.

But that would be an April Fool’s joke to make you think that.

Hopefully, I got you.

While we are not pregnant, I can’t wait to watch any child go through its developmental stages.

Moreso, I love watching adults get back to the reflexive stability with which they were born.

While our wedding is not a shotgun one, we are excited nonetheless.

When you finally get to meet your partner in life, the thoughts of marriage-and babies-don’t seem so scary.

And you certainly don’t want to wait around and call the man of your dreams your “boyfriend.”

So, we are getting married sooner rather than later.

Try not to let yourself get too fooled today.

And while your guard is up, make sure to see all the truth offered to you.

As always, it’s your call.
