People Who’ve Changed Me: Part 67

Dooley Noted: 4/9/2016

The Person:

Barry Hooper

His Profession:

massage therapist, owner of Bodywork Unlimited in Media, PA

How I met him:
I had the honor of meeting Barry as his lead instructor for NeuroKinetic Therapy level one in Louisville, Kentucky, in January 2013.

Barry asked numerous, thought-provoking questions and always had an enormous amount of respect and professionalism.

I knew I wanted to engage with him more, so I was lucky that he took very strongly to NKT.

He became a well-loved, respected member of our treatment community, as well as an assistant teacher for NKT.

How he’s changed me:
Two years ago, Barry visited my house when I hosted several guests who were taking or assistant-teaching an NKT NYC seminar.

He brought a cooler of drinks, as well as pounds upon pounds of fresh filet mignon to cook for us.

It was the first time I had a house of guests, and I had no idea how to host.

But Barry showed me what it takes, with great food, delicious wine, endless introspective conversations, and quoting “A Few Good Men” speeches in unison!

He’s not just one of the best therapists out there.

He’s one of the warmest, most thoughtful humans you’ll ever meet.

His love for his treatments of people cannot be superseded by his love for family, in a gorgeous home on acres and acres of land.

It’s so beautiful to see a man so committed to family first. And as his career continues to blossom, he has shown me you really can have it all in a delicate balance.
