Today, I couldn’t seem to do anything right.
Every decision I made seemed like the wrong one, until they compiled into a fast ball pitch right into my own back.
As I sat there, knocked down by the impact, I realized it was I who had dealt the pitch.
That seemed to sting worse than the actual mistakes.
I had let myself lose sight of my permission to be human.
In the great chase of perfection, I forgot what my partner tells me often.
“Move through perfection. You’re already there.”
As I picked myself up from the puddle I left, I found my mind turn to the logical.
Don’t forget you are absolutely human and permitted to make mistakes.
Find solutions to the problems.
Strategize on how to make everything work.
Then laugh – laugh so hard at the fact that you won’t even remember this moment in years to come.
I said to Jonathan, “Wow. That was a bad day.”
He replied, “No, it wasn’t. It was a great day of learning.”
It turns out bad days only exist if you see them that way.
As always, it’s your call.
