Thorn in the Paw

Dooley Noted: 7/9/2016

I have the honor of working alongside some really amazing athletes on the staff at Catalyst SPORT.

My business partners and all the Catalyst coaches are incredible athletes, and the clinicians are all equally strong and focused.

When you’re in the business of injury prevention, you lead by example.

Thus, some great coaches often hide their injuries like all athletes, waiting for the storm to possibly pass on its own.

If it doesn’t, some choose to continue playing with the injury.

But at Catalyst, we are rather quick to seek out the root to the issue and get care before it creates a bigger problem.

My amazing business partners, Joe and Jason, are proficient at taking this step.

Jason will book in with me and often say, “Let’s get this thorn out of my paw.”

He knows he can more fiercely compete if he gets to a problem early – before the thorn wedges in too deeply to be recovered.

If you sense a thorn, do not expect the worst.

Prevent the worst.

Playing your sport on an injury may drive that thorn in deeper.

Get assessed and corrected.

Get an objective examination for your subjective awareness change.

As always, it’s your call.
