My husband went to a chiropractor for 2 years before he met me.
He was on a very affordable plan, paying $95 a month for weekly adjustments.
This cost him $1,140 a year.
He asked the doctors many times if there were ways he could get himself out of neck pain.
They showed him a few stretches that didn’t really suit his specific needs.
So, he thought he would have to see a chiropractor forever.
Luckily for him, he married one!
But I’ve only adjusted him three times in the near year I’ve known him.
He asked me about a strategy for getting himself out of neck pain.
I told him that was what a chiropractic rehabilitative specialist does for his or her patients.
He said he had never heard of such a thing!
So I treated him like any other patient, assigning him corrective exercises based upon his movement assessment.
He hasn’t needed but a few adjustments and muscle work from me in the last year, because he is a very compliant patient that does his homework.
We also talked about the carryover into his day-to-day life.
We talked about ways he could change his body mechanics in massage school, as well as during his workouts.
He can get an adjustment anytime he wants, but he simply doesn’t need one the vast majority of the time.
He has a strategy to care for himself.
I may seem expensive, but Jonathan has seen me only three times in one year.
That would equal $570 a year, half the price of what he used to spend on weekly treatments.
(Of course, we skill barter since we share a bank account.)
He invests in himself with his dedication and time, rather than his dollar.
He stopped outsourcing for someone else to help him get out of pain, and he learned a strategy and a program to get himself out of it.
When a chiropractic rehabilitation specialist is out of network for you, remember that it’s an investment into your future.
This is the story for all of my patients, who want to spend less total but get more quality out of the their treatments.
You’ll end up paying a lot less money and getting a lot more results.
As always, it’s your call.
