The n=1 Factor

The n=1 Factor

“Any amount of alcohol is bad for your health.”

“A glass of wine per day is linked to the maximum people who live over 100.”

“Margarine is acceptable and coconut oil is poison.”

“Coconut oil is the health food you are missing.”

“HIIT is bad for you.”

No wait, “HIIT is good for you.”

“Ketogenic diets prevent cancer replication.”

“Cancer can adapt to any environment’s fuel source.”

I’m just so sick of all this perpetuation by the media into health anxiety for its readers.

You know what’s affecting your life quality the most?

Dissociation from self by assuming some report knows what is right for you.

Get blood work yearly. Chart your changes.

Keep a training log. Observe the changes you see and feel. Chart them.

Document how diet affects you. You don’t have to track every morsel to get good data.

Meditate. It’s backed up by a litany of research, and it’s the step that involves YOU helping YOU, so the research gets ignored.

Observe and reflect on research, understanding what applies to n=100 may not completely apply to you.

Keep data on YOU.

In all of the reading, don’t forget the n=1 by studying YOURSELF.

Be your own researcher, too.

As always, it’s your call.
