Why I’m StrongFirst
Until May of last year, I worked out in a gym or on the pavement. For 33 years, I had no sport. I had no goals. I exercised because I thought it was “good” for me.
Then, I started surrounding myself with people who didn’t train for the sake of sweating or burning calories.
They are StrongFirst.
They don’t pick up a weight until the form is safe. They put the weight down if it is not safe.
They don’t move through equipment just for the sake of variety. They move to move better, so they can move more without compromise.
They carry heavy things in the gym, so they can better carry heavy things in life.
They fail to give you blind encouragement, but encourage those with clear goals to do hard work.
They know the fundamentals mean everything, and when lost, cost you everything.
They know the results may not happen tomorrow, but that the process is the focus. For when a goal is achieved, it will be chased by another.
They let me get away with nothing, and they will hear no excuses. They will pick you apart to make you better than when you started.
They aren’t just folks into kettlebells. This StrongFirst family is the family I’ve made for myself. It was not my birthright but a family born from a common goal of the ultimate daily dedication to the trifecta: mobility, stability, and strength.
They are StrongFirst. We are StrongFirst.
