I am not a magician. I am also not a healer.
There will be no laying on of hands as the gods infuse you with healing while you lay on my treatment table.
I don’t seek to create a voodoo experience that gives you a moment of relief, just to see you in discomfort on your ride home.
Will you leave my office feeling better? It’s highly likely.
But I won’t give you therapy as an aspirin.
Most people will feel better, lying flat on a table and forgetting about their troubles for a few minutes.
You’re deloaded in the joints. You’re deloaded from your stressors. You’re deloaded from your life.
But what happens when you reload, the same as when you first walked into my office?
I don’t work nearly every moment I’m awake to convince you I can heal you.
I work to convince you that YOU can heal you.
I teach people how to recognize their pain generators – and how to see themselves out of the pain.
Some might call this prevention.
I do not.
This is observation, acquisition, and application of a skill set.
New York – and the world – is full of therapists that will let you deload in return for a copay.
Open the web search and take your pick.
But when you are ready to cut the sh*t and get to the grit, I will gladly put you in queue.
When you are prepared to learn how YOUR strategies help or hurt you, I will be here.
I won’t give you a fish when I can teach you how to fish.
And I sure as hell won’t give you an aspirin, when I can help you build resilience.
As always, it’s your call.
